The Brief.
Forest needed a PR agency who could spread the word and raise awareness of the new documentary series ‘Santa Claus: The Serial Killer’. The brief was to get as many people talking about the documentary as possible in the run up to the series premiering on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer and to raise awareness in order to attract viewers. The project was on a tight turn around so it was integral that the chosen agency worked quickly and efficiently to achieve the desired results.
What did Orange do?
After delivering strong results on a previous campaign for Forest and exceeding expectations, Orange was chosen to work with the client again on the media launch for Santa Claus: The Serial Killer.
As experts in media relations, Orange drafted an engaging press release and shared this with a targeted media list of national online, print and broadcast media outlets.
From our experience in entertainment PR, the Orange team utilised its connections with key journalists across the UK to organise previews of the series, secure top spots in TV listings and organise media interview days for Mobeen Azhar as well as those who contributed to the documentary.
The Juicy Results.
Orange PR and Marketing successfully supported Forest in boosting awareness and generating an impressive PR reach for the production business.
The PR activity achieved 22 pieces of national coverage across broadcast, print and online media, and was featured by national newspapers including The Telegraph, The Guardian and The Times and by magazines including Grazia and Closer. The media coverage didn’t stop there – Orange also secured interviews for Mobeen Azhar and other contributors with titles including Metro, Daily Mail, BBC 5Live, Daily Mirror, Daily Star, LadBIBLE, Attitude and more. This generated an overall audience reach of 70.1 million. Thanks to the buzz generated ahead of the launch, the series was ranked the most popular documentary on BBC iPlayer, along with being featured in iPlayer’s top 10 most viewed programmes – a fantastic achievement when competing with other popular and mainstream shows.
